Where Are You Now? 2000-2009

After being given University status in the 90's, the University of Sunderland continued to develop well into the 2000's. In 2002, St Peter's Campus was renmaed the Sir Tom Cowie Campus in celebration of local entrepeneur Sir Tom Cowie OBE. 2004 saw the opening of the £9 million Media Centre on the Sir Tom Cowie Campus. Continuing to grow, Cityspace, the £12m sports facility opened in preparation for the 2012 London Olympics.
