Jane Tellam

BA Environmental Illustration and Graphic Design 2002

Jane, who prefers to be called Jinx, is an Artist, Graphic Designer and Art Director living in the Peak District area who has obtained minor celebrity status as an abstract artist since she started Mindgoop on Zazzle in August 2011.

Jinx initially worked with horses for many years and held various positions which included a horse riding instructor, yard manager, polo groom, dressage groom, show jumping groom, and also in horse physiotherapy.

She changed careers after a motorcycle accident in 1997 and studied Art and Design at Farnborough College of Techology. The 43-years-old then went on to study Fine Art at Huddersfield University then changed courses, after being told that she was 'appalling' at art and should never pick up a paintbrush again, to a joint honours degree course in Environmental Illustration and Graphic Design at the University of Sunderland, graduating in 2002.

After living in Australia she worked in telesales then as ghostwriter before starting Mindgoop in 2011. At Mindgoop she is the CEO, Art Director, Graphic Designer, and Artist.

Mindgoop went swiftly from just a one slogan T-shirt to well over 90,000 products being offered for sale in the international Mindgoop branded stores. All art on Mindgoop is by Jane Tellam (Jinx).

Jinx sells her art, photography and design via 'print on demand sites' on apparel, gifts, greeting cards, electronic cases, home decor and art prints. As well as her stores at Zazzle she also has stores at Redbubble, Skreened, Cafepress and Crated, with more expansions in the pipeline for this year.

Jinx also carries out beta testing of new customisable products for Zazzle which involves the last stage of testing before they become available to other designers and eventually the public.

Prints by Jinx can also be found elsewhere on the Mindgoop stores, Imagekind and Society6 and canvas prints by the artist can also be found on Amazon.
