Graduation Ceremonies

The University of Sunderland's Graduation Ceremonies are formal celebrations of the achievements of our graduating students - a special occasion for students to share with their families. The ceremonies are held twice a year at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland (one in summer and one in winter), lasting approximately 90 minutes. Representatives from the Alumni Association attend the ceremonies in order to congratulate and welcome recent graduates to the alumni family.

The word 'alumni' refers graduates of the University and each year we graduate over 3500 proud students who have studied on a variety of courses at our campuses and with our partners. When your degree is confirmed, you automatically become part of the University’s Alumni Association, a global community of over 130,000 alumni in 32 countries. This gives you the opportunity to benefit from a range of services and career enhancing opportunities but most importantly you will be able to stay in touch with your University in years to come.

You can enjoy a range of benefits and services such as:

  • Access to the University’s library and gym
  • 1-2-1 careers advice and guidance for up to three years after graduation
  • You can keep up to date on University news
  • Register for events across the world
  • Discover opportunities to develop your career and build your business networks
  • Receive exclusive Alumni discounts - and much more!
