Our annual Donor newsletter highlights the the work of the Development Trust supported by the University's Development Office.
Over the last year we have awarded over £100,000 in the form of 65 scholarships which have provided life changing experiences and opportunities to our students.
We offer our most sincere thanks to our donors for their continued generosity to the various scholarships available through the University of Sunderland's Development Trust.

Iona Stock
BA (Hons) Glass and Ceramics graduate Iona Stock, from York, received the Futures Fund Excellence Scholarship two years running, and the Mike Davis Innovation Scholarship, as well as graduating with a First Class honours degree last summer.

Doug Hughes has fulfilled his dream of graduating with a degree in Fine Art thanks to the Futures Fund Excellence Scholarship. "Without the financial security of the award, I would almost certainly have been forced to defer for at least a year."

A young woman’s desire to improve people’s understanding of sexism and racism has led to her using her skills as a radio presenter to launch her own business. Chantal Herbert, 37, from Newcastle, graduates from MA Radio later this year with a fledgling business that is already having an impact.
