Joana Pilinci, 23, from Greece, is in the final year of her Pharmacy degree, and is being supported with a scholarship. “I completed a two-year course in Greece to become a Pharmacy Assistant,” she says. "That helped me realize that I would like to further expand my knowledge in pharmacy.
"I applied for the Hope Winch Scholarship after seeing a friendly face – a fellow student who had received the scholarship last year. Their success made me believe I could also apply.
"Last year, I juggled multiple jobs to cover expenses, but this year, I'm determined to focus on my studies without financial worries. The scholarship will provide me with the stability needed to fully commit to my education. I intend to use it primarily for rent, freeing up my time and energy to fully focus on my studies and achieve my academic goals.
“The application process was quite straightforward. My advice to other students would be to thoroughly go through the scholarship criteria and answer each requirement truthfully. Being honest and methodical can greatly increase their chances of success.
”I believe that with each bit of experience gained, new doors will open, offering me greater opportunities to grow and develop in my career."
