2015 marks one of the most important events of your life – graduation and life after University. Before you came to Sunderland and throughout your time here we’ve made a promise we intend to keep – that this is a life-changing journey, and your journey doesn’t stop here.

Jack Patterson

 Jack has landed a Graduate Engineering post straight out of University - but that hardly seems surprising given that last year he was named Placement Engineer of the Year! Read more here.

 

 

 

 

 

Alex Burgess

Spark's youngest ever female drive time DJ is continuing to take over the airwaves as she has graduated this year. She has also won Best Female in the Student Radio Awards. Read more here.

 Kate Edis

Kate, who has graduated with a Masters in Pharmacy, picked up her second award in two years. Kate's name will now be on a plaque, permanently on display in the Dale Building. Read more here.

 

 

 

 

 

Bilal Raja

Business and Management graduate Bilal, originally from Pakistan, isn't ready to leave Sunderland behind quite yet. Bilal has now been appointed President of the Students Union. Read more here.

Faye and Mark

Carly Solomon

There’s been a healthy amount of success this year for Carly Solomon, who not only secured a First Class Honours degree, but was also awarded a £10,000 scholarship to further her studies, and scooped a Best Dissertation accolade given by the Public Health Alumni and Friends Society. Faye and Mark Brannigan

It was a family celebration when father and daughter Mark and Faye Brannigan graduated from the University. Faye completed her BA Hons Childhood Studies degree at Sunderland at the same time as her father Mark was working towards his Post Graduate Certification in Higher Education. Read more here.

Jonny Chambers

Jonny Chambers was first inspired to take up a career in radio age 13 on a school trip to the University of Sunderland’s student’s radio station – now, seven years later Jonny has graduated from that same university with a handful of awards, and experience as a professional radio presenter. Sarah has seen her industry rewarded after she claimed two top prizes for academic achievement, engagement and performance, and secured a First class honours degree from the University of Sunderland. Read more here.

Emma Small and Grant Ridley

English Education (Hons) graduates Grant Ridley, 23, and Emma Small, 21, have much to celebrate after receiving their academic awards at the summer graduation ceremonies. Read more here.

Two bouts of major illness weren’t enough to stop Emma Hussain completing her studies – not only did she gain a First Class degree, she was also named Outstanding Student of the Year. Read more here.

Amy Laws

The appropriately named Amy Laws has been named the top Law student at the University. Amy, from Pennywell, has won the Ede and Ravenscroft Prize for the best Undergraduate Law Student, and now plans to continue her studies. Read more here. 

         

Deborah and Sarah Prudham

Twins Deborah and Sarah had a week of celebration with their family after Deborah graduated BSc Biomedical Science and Sarah BSc Sport and Exercise Sciences – and both gained the highest degree classification possible. Read more here.


The Waller Family

Three members of the Waller family have graduated this summer. Daughter Elisha has graduated in Sociology, mum Debra has graduated in Psychology and dad Gary has graduated in Business and Finance! Read more here.
