Lisa lives in Ottawa, Canada with her husband and her 1-year-old daughter. She met her husband whilst working as an entertainer for Disney Cruise Line after graduating with a Creative Arts Degree in 1999.

The 36-year-old explains that working as a performer for the Disney Crusise Line was a dream for her. Becoming a Canadian citizen was another important milestone but at the same time it was challenging.

She says: “It was a challenge adapting to life in a new country not knowing what my future and career may hold.”

However she settled well and currently works as a choreographer and performer in local Community Theatres in Ottawa. 

But for the Sunderland-born, the University and the city will always be special: “I felt this was the time of my life where I really found myself and what I wanted for my future, I made long lasting friends and memories that I will never forget.

“I also had inspirational lectures such as Lesley Younger (Dance Lecturer) with whom I shared the same love of dance, and Val McLane (Drama Lecturer).”
