One particular Norwegian reunion group who commenced their studies in 1976, returned to campus in May of 2011. Reunion organiser Vidar Aarvold explains his thinking:
"Coming to Sunderland had a huge impact on all of us. We lived and studied together nearly 40 years ago and have stuck together as friends since that time. The people were incredibly friendly and welcoming and we have nothing but good memories.”
“Within days of graduating we all walked into jobs back home in Norway and we believe it was the experience we were given on the engineering sandwich courses, which prepared us for industry right away." Vidar is so encouraged by the growth of the University that he convinced his son to study a Masters degree in marketing here in 2005. The Development & Alumni Office looks forward to working with the group on their next visit back to campus.
