Meg began her university journey in 2021 studying BA Illustration and Design. Her mentor at the start of the course pushed her to apply for the scholarship to help boost confidence and self-esteem. “The scholarship has been a game changer, shaping me into the artist I am today. The support from Mike has been nothing short of life changing,” said Meg.

The funding allowed Meg to purchase equipment to give her the best chance of succeeding at university. The items have been crucial to her studies and have allowed Meg to effectively work from home. It has meant she can focus on her studies and not having to work so many hours to be able to afford these items “This has done the world of good for my studies and my well-being”, Meg said.

“Getting to visit museums, galleries, and your offices has been inspiring. I would never have been able to afford to go to London and experience seeing the V&A, the British Museum, or the Tate  without this scholarship, and I wouldn't have known about the John Soane Museum to have even looked for it. Now, I have memories that will last a lifetime, and sketchbooks and photo albums are filled with information and inspiration for projects in the years to come”.

Meg said “The group of scholars I've been with because of you have been my lifeline during university. We've become a small family who protect and care for each other, no matter the issue. We show up to each other's events, we're there at each other's birthdays, and we look after each other. This group has given me the most important group of friends I've ever had.

Meg concluded “My experience at university could have been so different, and I am forever grateful to Mike and the scholarship for the opportunity.
