The Douglas Clasper Award - FESCI


The University is the recipient of a generous donation in memory of Douglas Clasper, the father of Mike Clasper an Honorary Graduate of the University who was born and brought up in Sunderland. 

This award programme will provide one new scholarship each year for five years for a Faculty of Education, Society and Creative Industries (FESCI) 2nd or 3rd Year undergraduate student.

The scholarship award will provide one talented scholar with up to £3,000 to undertake a career enhancing project, initiative or opportunity that will enrich their student experience. Please review the criteria of this programme for further details.

Applications to this programme are currently open. 

You can apply for this scholarship using your University E-Vision account 

Applicants are encouraged to discuss a potential application with an Academic and also contact the Development Office team for advice on how to apply. You will need to supply supporting information as attachments as per the criteria of this programme

The closing date for this scholarship is Friday 2nd May 2025

Applications will be assessed by the awarding committee and students will be notified by the end of May 2025.
