Kiran Kumar Ravulakollu

Kiran is Dean for School of Technology at Woxsen University in India. He also holds the position of Director, Research & Development at this same university. 

He explained: "My role includes taking care of the entire school of Technology, its programmes; students welfare and development; faculty and their development, teaching learning process etc. I am also responsible for student outcomes along with programme outcomes. My role is core and critical in bringing the vision and mission of the school."

After completing his PhD in Hybrid Intelligent Systems at the University of Sunderland in 2012, Kiran immediately landed a post as Assistant Professor at the School of Engineering & Technology at Sharda University of India. After a stint of few years, he moved to his current role.

His current main research interests are sensory networks, robotics, biologically inspired multimodal behaviour modelling, ambient intelligence, and sensory network design along with visual and auditory information processing. Other areas of interests include integrated areas of agent navigation, human-computer interaction and neural networks.

“The University of Sunderland has provided me with a great opportunity to look beyond horizons in answering and understanding how to research, how to think, how to act and how to perform. Sunderland and its lecturers have played a vital role in my education,” explains Kiran.

Kiran is heavily involved in the research communities and has been publishing with internationally reputed publishers like Springer, Elsevier through journal, conference and book chapters. He has served to editorial/reviewer boards for journals like IROS, IJACR, Hindawi Publishing Corporation and JECE. Kiran has also served as conference chair for international conference of SocProS-2013.

“My future plans include establishment of research collaboration between Sunderland and Sharda University.”
