Anis Kasmani

MBA 2014

After graduating with an MBA from the University of Sunderland in London, Anis came back to his home country, Pakistan, and set up his own business of shipping and logistics.

Founded in 2015, Straight Forwarding is one of the leading one-window logistics solution providers having 428 network partners around the globe.

The 28-year-old said: “Our services include air freight, sea freight, supply chain management, custom clearance and door to door deliveries. We have some multinational organisations as corporate clients but are still working on growing the business.”

Asked about what attracted him to the University of Sunderland, Anis commented: “When I was choosing a university to complete my MBA studies I took into consideration some important factors. They included the ranking and status in UKBA educational directory, the market reputation, the infrastructure, the inside hierarchy and last but not least a convenient location.

“The University of Sunderland ticked all the boxes and that is why I decided to study here.”

He added: “I had great memories from my time at the University. It was a student friendly environment, the lecturers were approachable and keen to help, and the lectures were good. It had also the social element; I liked the indoor games near the Food Court.”

Anis’s advice to current students and graduates entering the job market is: “Based on my experience, I would suggest new graduates to stay focused, focused and focused to their interest whatever they are doing in practical life.

“The second thing is never make comparisons with friends, family members or even competitors! Act like a horse of a Derby, focus on your target and run to achieve it without looking left or right.”
