David Spence

David started his teaching career in Stanley (County Durham) in 1976. After a stint of two years, he moved to Leeds where he has been a teacher for 28 years at Morley High School. He is now retired and enjoys travelling, spending time in the allotment, etc.

He explained: “The then Polytechnic ran an education course with design tech as its main subject. Lecturer Ernie Haswell was greatly admired for his understanding and wit."
