Geoffrey Bailey

Geoffrey graduated from the then Sunderland Technical College in 1968. Now retired, Geoffrey taught Physics for 33 years. He considers his greatest achievement getting his students through their exams.
The Sunderland Technical College opened in 1901 with the Principal and four full-time lecturers in charge of four departments, Chemistry, Mechanical and Civil Engineering, Physics and Electrical Engineering together with Commerce and Languages and with part-time lecturers in other subjects including Navigation, Naval Architecture.
Geoffrey says: “One of my best memories from my time at the College are my colleagues.”
Asked about what advice he would give recent graduates entering the job market, Geoffrey replied: “Stick at it.”
