Help support Sunderland students experiencing hardship in this crisis and beyond
The impact of COVID-19 represents the biggest crisis to hit UK universities and their students for several generations.
Students are at the heart of everything we do and we know that many of our own are facing significant financial hardship which threatens their ability to continue to study. Expected income from part time jobs and internships have been severely affected, as has the ability of family members to provide financial support. Some students don’t have access to technology at home and others are struggling with basic living costs for food and medications.
The University has already provided many bursaries and packages of support to students like Kennedy and Lily since the pandemic began, but faced with increasing demand, and the prospect of continued disruption to our lives over the coming months, we need your help.
Please consider giving a gift to our Emergency Hardship Fund: COVID-19, to provide immediate financial support to disadvantaged and vulnerable students who are most affected by the current crisis.
Your support really could make all the difference to a student’s future.
"The COVID-19 Emergency Hardship Fund is a vital response to the financial difficulties being faced by many of our students as a result of the pandemic."
