Mentoring

We all need a little extra support on our way up the career ladder and mentoring is a great way for you to gain insight into how you shape those next steps.  The University's professional mentoring scheme has been designed to help you develop the work related skills you need to have successful graduate careers. As a recent graduate we will pair you with professionals from organisations across a variety of different sectors and backgrounds.

The scheme draws upon the knowledge and experience of employers and employees who volunteer their time as professional mentors to help develop your knowledge and understanding of how to excel in a specific work environment and how you can implement the knowledge gained during your degree into working practice.

Through a series of one-to-one mentoring sessions (virtual or face to face) over the course of the year, you will be able to learn about the attributes and skills that your mentor has developed throughout their career and how you can apply these in your day to day job.  It is a fantastic way for you to become highly employable in a competitive jobs market.

Alumni who are already shining stars can also become professional mentors and give back to current students and recent graduates. Please see our Super Alumni section for further opportunities.

Find out more about the professional mentoring scheme in the Frequently Asked Questions, then apply online.
