Where Are You Now?

Han Thi Thet Lwin

BA Business and Management 2022 (MSDI Singapore)

Position and company: Deputy Manager at A Bank Myanmar

At the age of 25, Han Thi has got plenty of achievements under her belt, all thanks to her hard work and determination from a very young age.

Han Thi is a beauty pageant, actor, singer, and model, who has won many awards including the Miss World Myanmar in 2018. She is also a Deputy Manager at A Bank Myanmar.

“I achieved my goal and graduated in 2022. I’m currently working as a deputy manager in marketing at one of the top banks in Myanmar.”

Asked about what attracted her to the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS) and the University of Sunderland, she said: “The school provides great education with professional teachers and that reflects on the success of its graduates. I also wanted to be one of them. I really enjoyed the course, the teachers motivated us and offered great guidance. I also made great friends for life.”

She continued: “What influenced me the most at MDIS was the atmosphere and the social life which helped us to feel at ease and to forge good relationships.”

Han Thi’s dedication and strong work ethic was evident throughout her time studying BA Business and Management, as she balanced her work inside the classroom with her role as beauty pageant title holder, which required lots of dedication, responsibility, and commitment.

“But I was able to overcome that by setting goals for my life and making the right decision moving forward,” she explained.

Han Thin has won many awards throughout her artist career, including Asia Model Star Award 2019, Myanmar’s Pride Awards 2019, Miss World Myanmar 2018, Miss World 2018 (Head-to-Head Challenge Winner), Miss Supranational Asia and Oceania 2014, and Miss Face of Myanmar 2012.

As someone who has worked hard on achieving her ambitions, Han Thi advises recent graduates entering the job market to follow their dreams and to never give up. “You need to trust yourself and know that you can do anything!” she said.

The graduate concluded: “My future plans are to gain some more work experience in my current job and to study for a master’s degree.”
