“My degree from the University of Sunderland equipped me with the skills to be able to handle the varied and demanding world of engineering in terms of my design and engineering ability, but especially the skills I gained in hands on project management in my five years with the Formula Student Team.

“Initiatives such as the Formula Student Racing Team at the University of Sunderland show potential employers your commitment to projects outside of normal studies. It’s also a great opportunity to show your design skills in a real world situation.

During my time at the University there was constant upgrading and development of all the facilities within the campuses. Lecturers were always open to different ideas and opportunities to work with industry.”

It is clear that the automotive sector offers huge opportunities for young, highly skilled graduates.

“I’m in the fortunate position that many of my friends from Uni have gone on to work in the automotive industry, so our conversation never strays far from the topic of these amazing four wheel creations.
