William Mason, 20, from Washington, is studying BA Graphic Design. He says that being a Davies Scholar has helped him decide that his future career lies with a branding agency, and this year he has spent his time and funds on helping him realise that ambition.
“Some of this year’s scholarship went towards funding small trips to various museums and exhibitions, to broaden my own understanding of design through history.
“The scholarship also paid for a 3D printer, which will really help in my course, especially for my degree show next year.
Now, I will be able to create various sculptures or pieces of design that will show off my creativity, and will hopefully attract future employers.”
The Mike Davies Scholarship offers £1,500 per academic year for new students studying:
- BA (Hons) Animation and Games Art
- BA (Hons) Illustration and Design
- BA (Hons) Photography, Video & Digital Imaging
