The Sir Tom Cowie Memorial Scholarship Award

The University is the recipient of a generous donation to support local students via the Sir Tom Cowie Memorial Scholarship Award.

This scholarship honours the memory and motivations of Sir Tom who was a long term benefactor of the University. Recipients must be a full-time undergraduate studying a course in the discipline of either Engineering, Business or Enterprise or Education and should be at the end of their penultimate year. (second year for standard programmes or third year for four year programmes) You must be on track for a 1st or high 2:1 degree classification and you must be from the City of Sunderland.

How to Apply

Applications are now open for this scholarship programme, closing date has been extended to Friday, 21st April 2017.

To apply for the Sir Tom Cowie Scholarship you must complete an application form and submit it to the Development and Alumni Office. Applicants are encouraged to contact the Development team to discuss their application in line with the specified critera below.
