Innovative Retail Scholarship launched by University of Sunderland Chancellor

The Chancellor of the University of Sunderland has launched a new scholarship, giving students access to transformative opportunities that will kickstart careers in retail.

A marathon effort to inspire young students

A University of Sunderland graduate who was struck down with a rare neurological disorder that brought him to the brink of death is now set to run the TCS London Marathon. In January 2024, Mark Learmouth became seriously ill with Guillain-Barre syndrome, a condition in which the body's immune system attacks the peripheral nervous system. It was while he was recovering in hospital in April last year, he watched the London Marathon and decided that he would use the race to motivate him to get fit again.

We've also created exclusive Class of 2024 prints, ideal for last year's graduates.

CitySpace Fitness Suite membership is for those who wish to take full advantage of this pre-Olympic training venue which will set new standards for fitness in the North East.

Library Membership

Membership of the library is free and open to alumni. Borrow up to four books and have access to the library during staffed hours.
