Setting up your own business

Develop your own business idea and start your own enterprise at the University's Enterprise Place, based on-campus at the new Hope Street Xchange building.

Graduates and students from any discipline looking to set up their own business can apply for membership. It's a one-stop shop bringing together budding entrepreneurs at all stages of their development.

Membership of the Enterprise Place is awarded upon a successful application process and 'pitch' to a panel. Members then gain access to a host of benefits, including:

  • Free hot desk space with computer and telephone
  • Free business start up pack
  • Free one to one business advice surgeries, mentoring and support
  • Free entry to business awareness sessions
  • Networking opportunities 
  • Access to competitive funding

Simple application process

Applying to become a member and gain entry to the Enterprise Place is very straightforward and starts with booking a session with one of our advisors who will provide initial feedback on your business idea and help shape your subsequent application

Then, using our application form, you will be required to tell us in more depth about your idea and plan to move this forward.

Once we have received your completed application form, you will then be inivted to make a short 'pitch' to the Enterprise Place panel, who will assess the suitability and viability of your idea. 

If entry is approved, you will be welcomed into the Enterprise Place for up to 12-months.
