Where Are You Now?

Sadril Khan

Sadril Kalam Khan

MBA in Finance 2015

Sadril, 26, is now Senior Executive, HR and Admin at the multinational automotive company SBT Japan limited in Bangladesh after completing his MBA with the University of Sunderland.

He is responsible for the company recruitment and selection process as well as employee training and talent hunt. One of his main challenges is to keep all the employees happy and motivated.

He contributed with an article about CV writing and interview techniques in the most popular newspaper in Bangladesh, Prothom Alo. Seeing his job published in the newspaper has been one of his greatest achievements to date, he said.

When asked about what attracted him to the University of Sunderland, Sadril answered: “My first priority was student satisfaction and environment. I truly enjoyed my time there, it was unreal. I made friends for life with whom I am still in touch.

“We used to organise a small party on every cultural occasion of each friend’s native culture. It was a multi-cultural environment but we also interacted with local people.”

He continued: “I still remember fondly our trip to London, Christmas and Christmas shopping in the Bridges Shopping Centre and, most importantly, Ali Baba restaurant situated near Park Lane, run by two Kurdish brothers which was our meeting place.”

His advice to students is to work hard and be focused on what you are aiming for.

“Besides studying you will get time to socialise. And after your class work don’t sit back at home, do some volunteer work. Believe me, these things really pay off,” he added.

Sadril is currently in an internal recruitment process to move as a General Manager to one of his company branches in an African country. The Development and Alumni Office wishes him luck in his recruitment process!
